Raising The Roof For Fundraisers

Yes, I still raise the roof in 2011.

Can you believe it’s almost May?! WOW!

Springtime means lots of springy gala events with goals to raise big money! Big money means missions can be met and lives will continue to impacted. Personally, I’m just excited to get all dressed up to attend! Being fancy is my thing, you know. 🙂

As we embark on a new season, I thought I’d help raise the roof for a couple of events happening right around the corner. I urge you to read about their missions, their programs, and their goals and consider at least one.

She’s The First eCard Fundraiser
Now thru May

Let me start by saying I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this organization! I had the privilege to meet with its founder Tammy Tibbetts last week and believe you me, she is awesomeness! I just wanted to eat her up!

She’s The First is an organization that provides educational resources to young women in developing countries who are the first in their families to attend school. Get it: She’s The First?! Well, now through May, they are embarking on their first ever e-card fundraiser! Cards are a mere $4. All proceeds go to sponsor the 1-year education of one little munchkin cupcake at the Project Education Sudan. The poetry on the card selections were created by girls at two She’s The First partner schools. You’re going to love them! Buy one. Two or Three. I’m going to buy a few and send to special Friends of Ebonie donors. Will you be the lucky recipient? Hmmmm….;-)

SoHo Rep Gala 2011- May 2
Highline Ballroom, NYC
6:30pm -9:30pm

My NYU classmate, Faisal Al-Juburi is on the Board of Soho Rep. The Soho Repertory Theater is an awesome theater here in NYC. Founded in 1975, their founding mission was to showcase rare classical plays. Now the theater is known for its pioneering contemporary theater. The Soho Rep Gala benefits this distinguished pioneer of contemporary theatre and honors famed actress Marian Seldes. Join them as they mix, mingle, and celebrate groundbreaking theatre, and one of the stage and screen’s brightest stars, with performances from Blythe Danner, Ted Danson, Parker Posey, Tim Blake Nelson, The Lisps, and more! For ticket information go here.

Stay tuned for more great fundraisers! We can’t wait to share all the sprotacular events coming up!
